Last rays of the day after what had been quite a wet day in West Lancashire.

Looking from the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towards the Burscough industrial estate on the former Ringtail Airfield.

The West Lancashire plain stretches from Parbold Hill out to the coast at Southport, and so consequently there are some big skies.

As a lot of the soil is peaty the area is renowned as fertile agricultural and horticultural land.
